How to play Safety Bingo
One Super Safety Bingo gamecards is issued to each employee each
month, randomly distributed. Gamecards are color-coded for the month in which issued and are not valid
thereafter.
Employees "play" their gamecards based on numbers scratched off
each day in a monthly calendar on display. The daily numbers are scratched off by a designated program
manager.
Employees keep track on their gamecards by shading the circle
around matching numbers. Employees win by completing a straight line (vertically, horizontally or
diagonally) on their gamecards. Multiple Free spots make winning faster and simpler.
Note: Black ink markers should not be used to "shade" numbers on
gamecards, since they may obscure the numbers or prevent verification of winning
gamecards.
The calendars show only 30 days and gold scratch-off circles for
each month. With this design, the same calendar grid can be used for every month, regardless of the number
of days involved.
In months with 31 days, the program will end with the 30th number is scratched off. In
February, one or two extra numbers will be scratched off at the end of the month, to total 30.
In the Super Safety Bingo Program, an accident is defined
as a sudden and unplanned event resulting in lost time
and/or medical examination or treatment.
Individual employees involved in a lost-time accident are
disqualified for the month in which the accident occurred and must turn in their gamecard, but may
participate again in the next month.
Unlike conventional bingo, the Super Safety Bingo game does not end with one
winner. All qualified employees continue to play until the end of the month. Multiple winners are
possible and likely. However, individual winners are limited to one price per month.
